Victor Judnic Obituary – Death, Detroit Athletic Club member, avid swimmer, dies

Victor Judnic Obituary, Death – According to a news report that cites an email that was sent to members of the Detroit Athletic Club by the club’s executive manager, a man from Grosse Pointe Woods who was 57 years old and died on Sunday while swimming laps at the Detroit Athletic Club is the subject of an investigation into what caused his death. According to his online obituary, Victor Judnic was a member of the club. He also served as vice president of the engineering firm HNTB, as well as a lecturer at Lawrence Technological University and a former employee of the Michigan Department of Transportation. He also was an ardent swimmer, runner, biker and skier.

The private club and the Detroit police both received a message that was left by the Free Press. According to Axios Detroit, which claimed to have obtained a copy of an email sent by Charles Johnson to members of the club, the DAC reportedly informed members that the “club community is saddened by this traumatic loss” and that “members and staff who witnessed this tragedy are feeling a mix of emotions.”

Axios also stated that qualified employees administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to Judnic, but an hour later, he was pronounced dead at a hospital. In his obituary, it was written that he “passed away doing what he loved, swimming laps at the Detroit Athletic Club.” His wife, Anne Weertz, and their children, Margaret and Andrew Judnic, will carry on his legacy after his passing.
