Veteran Willis Death, Obituary – As the Royal family and the Whitecap Dakota Nation grieve the passing of their loved one, Veteran Willis R. Royal, we want to let them know that our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time. We would like to express our deepest condolences on behalf of the SFNVA. The late Veteran Royal lived to be 93 years old when he passed away. Those who served beside Late Veteran Royal and who are currently attending SFNVA Veterans Gatherings will feel a deep sense of loss in the absence of him.
Willis Randolf Royal was a member of the Regina Rifles Nation of the Whitecap Dakota and served in the military. Willis Royal arrived to the scene on May 20th, 1930. This was the year 1930. His alma mater was the Brandon Residential School in Brandon, Manitoba. In addition to that, he lived on the Fort Peck Reservation in Montana with his family for a period of time. This location is in the state of Montana. During the period in which occupation forces from the Allied powers were stationed in Germany. Willis Royal enlisted with the Regina Rifles and had his military training in Valcartier, Quebec.
After completing his training, Willis Royal returned to Regina. After being sent to Winnipeg, he eventually enlisted with the Winnipeg Rifles. After signing up for the military on August 21st, 1950, he was shipped off to his new assignment overseas on November 8th, 1950. He maintained his status as an active service member and was assigned to the Hanover, Germany, location. After serving for two years in Northern and Central, he set sail for home on November 8, 1953; by November 11, he was already far out at sea in the Atlantic Ocean. He had served in Northern and Central.
