Vernon Lawrence Obituary, Retired Senior Constable has died – Death

Vernon Lawrence Death, Obituary – The passing of retired Senior Constable Vernon (Vern) Lawrence FREEBORN #3886 was announced on January 4, 2023, and we are sorry to inform you of this news. We are sorry to write to you with the news of his passing. This information is being relayed to you with the deepest sense of regret on our part. We apologize for the inconvenience. On April 8, 1969, when Vern was 33 years old, he submitted his application to join the Ontario Provincial Police. He was allowed to join the police force. After Vern joined the military, his first assignment was at the Burlington Detachment, which was located in Vermont.

His appointment to a position in the Identification Unit of the Burlington District Headquarters (DHQ) took place on February 17, 1974. Following that, on March 29, 1976, he reported for duty at the Detachment where he had previously served. This was his second time doing so. On June 13, 1977, Vern went back to work at the Burlington DHQ Identification Unit, and he remained there until the day that he finally resigned on December 31, 1997. Vern’s last day of employment was December 31, 1997. Vern stayed employed at the company until the very end of his career. Vern eventually became a Life Member of the Ontario Provincial Police Veterans Association, having started out as a member of the Burlington Chapter of the OPP Veterans Association.

This accomplishment followed his initial membership in the Burlington Chapter. Vern Freeborn, a Retired Senior Constable, had been retired for the preceding 25 years at the time of his demise and was 87 years old at the time of his passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on behalf of not only myself but also the entirety of the Freeborn family and each and every one of their close friends. We pray that God will give you the kind of peace that is beyond human understanding. Vern.
