by Tonya Ingram Death, Obituary – We are in a condition of profound sadness due to the passing of Tonya Ingram, who was not only a treasured friend but also a regular work colleague of ours. Her passing has caused us to be in this position. Because of her loss, we find ourselves in a state of intense mourning at this time. Tonya was a tremendously talented and accomplished artist, and she was a pillar of support for all of us. We are going to suffer a great deal from her absence. We are all going to miss her very much after her passing. Because Tonya is also an advocate for mental health, her influence will continue to be felt for a lengthy amount of time into the foreseeable future.
This is owing to the fact that she is a poet. We count ourselves as tremendously lucky to have been given the opportunity to gain knowledge from Tonya’s direction and to collaborate with her over the course of such a substantial amount of time. This has allowed us to grow as individuals and as professionals. During the National Poetry Slam that took place in 2014, Tonya was a member of the shooting team for Button’s camera. This particular event is one of those that sticks out as being among the most memorable for all of us, and it was covered by Tonya.
In point of fact, that was one of the occasions that resulted in our group’s coming together. This was not an experience that was exclusive to the filming crews that worked on the Get Lit Classic Slam; rather, it was one that a significant number of other filmmaking crews also had in common. The celebration of all the enchantment that Tonya bestowed upon us will continue in the same manner in which it is being held at the moment. Rest well, friend.
