Tony Guerrero Death, Obituary – On the morning of Friday, January 6, 2023, at his residence, Antonio “Tony” Guerrero, Jr., age 81, abruptly passed away. He was born on October 30, 1941 in Muskegon to parents named Antonio Guerrero and Isabel (Cervera) Guerrero, and he spent his entire childhood in the region. Tony graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 1959 and was a member of the school’s alumni association. During the time of the Vietnam War, he was a member of the United States Army. He wed Gail Ann Johnston in Muskegon on the 21st of September, 1965, and she is the one who has survived him.
He attended the Catholic Church of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, which he was a member of. Tony was a devoted supporter of the Detroit Tigers baseball team, and he spent a significant portion of his life serving as the head coach of the Muskegon Catholic Central High School girls’ varsity softball team. He was a member of the community pool where he lived, where he also enjoyed playing golf and riding his mowers. Surviving family members include his devoted wife, Gail Guerrero; his daughter, Toniann Guerrero (who is married to Aurora Wesley); his four grandchildren, Antonio Guerrero, Marcello Weaver, Ayla Weaver, and Zain Maxon; two brothers,
Alberto Guerrero (who is married to Maria), and Tomas Guerrero (who is married to Marie); five sisters, Mary (Ron) Balentine, Virginia (Mark) Hamilton, Angie ( His parents, one of his brothers named Chuck Guerrero, and one of his brothers-in-law named Fred Johnston all passed away before him. At one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, January 14, 2023, a Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, located at 239 W. Clay Avenue in Muskegon, Michigan 49440, with the Reverend Fr. Kyle Kilpatrick officiating.
The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services is located at 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, Michigan 49442, and will be open for visitation on Friday from 4 to 7 pm. Visitation will also be place at the church on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, one hour before the Mass will begin.
