Tom Booth Death, Obituary – We wish to express our deepest condolences to the Board of Directors of Tupelo Community Theatre as we share the sad news of the passing of our esteemed Executive Director, Tom Booth. Tom was a beloved member of our organization. Tom passed away on January 10, 2023 as a result of the impacts that were caused by natural causes. Tom has been serving as the Executive Director of the Tupelo Community Theatre continuously since the year 1992. He was an essential member of the community theater family not just in Tupelo and the surrounding area, but also in the state of Mississippi, in the region, and even the country as a whole.
Tom was a visionary in both the acting and directing worlds, and throughout his time at Tupelo Community Theatre, he helped the theater earn a number of accolades at the state, regional, and national levels. The most important aspect about Tom was that he was a wonderful friend, a guide, and a supporter. He was also a cheerleader. He frequently challenged the people with whom he collaborated to achieve levels of success that they had never before considered attainable. I would want to express my gratitude to you, Tom, for the passion and enthusiasm that you have for the arts, as well as for the dedication that you have shown to both our theater and our community.
Thank you. From the 12th to the 15th of January, the Annual Festival of the Mississippi Theatre Association will be place at the Tupelo Community Theatre. Tom would say that the show must go on despite the technical difficulties.
