Thomasena Stokes Death, Obituary – During this trying time, she and her family are in both our thoughts and prayers. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Mount Pleasant is in the midst of a period of grief as a direct result of the death of Thomasena Stokes Marshall. The fact that members of the community are contemplating the ways in which she made a good difference in their life is one factor that contributed to the current state of affairs. She established a place for herself in the annals of history by becoming the first person of African American descent to have a seat on the Mount Pleasant Town Council.
As a result of her accomplishment, she has a spot in the annals of history. Her ancestors hail from several parts of the world, specifically Africa and the Americas. She began working in this capacity in the year 1998 and continued doing so until the end of the calendar year 2015. She had a fruitful career with the New York Police Department (NYPD) before she moved to Mount Pleasant, a career that culminated in her retirement the following year, in 1991, after she had served there for a number of years. She moved to Mount Pleasant at the end of that year. During this trying time, her family is at the forefront of our thoughts and prayers as we work through this challenge together.
They can only triumph over this obstacle with God’s assistance. Mrs. Stokes-Marshall demonstrated the attributes of a refined lady by being well-mannered and honest, and she did so in a manner that was exceptionally polished. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time. May God bless you all. Please accept my condolences.
