by Sue Syers Obituary, Death – Corleen “Sue” Sayers, age 74, of Hilliard, passed away in the Avita Health System – Galion Hospital in Galion on Friday, July 29, 2022. She was the daughter of Edwin Conkle, who passed away, and Julia Warrick Conkle, who also passed away, and she was born in Salem on February 7, 1948. Prior to it, Sue had been employed in the medical field. She loved spending time with her family and was a fan of horse shows and animals.
Her death occurred five years before that of her husband, Millard Lee Sayers, whom she had married on August 24, 1968. He passed away on January 5, 1979. Sue is survived by her son, Thomas Sayers (and his wife, Missy Basinger), of Hilliard; her daughter, April Joy Sayers (and her husband, Timothy Shea), of Weirton, West Virginia; two sisters, Gloria Simon (and her husband, John) of Johnstown and Darlene Whitmore (and her husband, Robert) of Anderson, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Tabby McLaughlin, Andrew McLaughlin, Kayla Thomas, Chelsey McLaughlin, Kate
Her grandson Austin Sayers passed away before her. He was her predecessor. At the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana, the family will greet friends on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and again on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. On Friday, August 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., funeral services will be performed at the funeral home in Columbiana, with Pastor Kari Lankford serving as the officiant.
