Steve Walsh Obituary, Death – We are saddened to inform you of the demise of Steve Walsh, who coached at Palm Beach up until the conclusion of the 2021 school year. Our hearts go out to his family and friends. After a courageous fight against cancer, Steve passed away on Saturday night surrounded by his family. Steve led our 14-and-under Division 1 boys team to an unbeaten season, a minor premiership, and a victory in the championship game in 2021. His loved ones and friends will suffer a great loss with his passing.

Dr. Steve Michael Walsh, 76 years old, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Walsh was a resident of Asheboro. On May 30, 1946, Dr. Walsh was welcomed into the world in Winston-Salem, North Carolina by his parents, Maurice and Sina Kilby Walsh. The years 1972–1974 saw him stationed in the Naval Training Center in Orlando, Florida, while he was serving his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Dr. Walsh was a member of the North Carolina Dental Society and had a dental office in Asheboro, North Carolina, for a total of 42 years.

He attended services at the First United Methodist Church located in Asheboro, North Carolina. In addition to being a Mason and a participant in the Asheboro Kiwanis Club, he was a former president of the YMCA that serves the Randolph County area. Steve had a strong commitment to his community and was actively involved in his children’s extracurricular activities. He was a previous leader of the Boy Scouts and served as a coach for the Asheboro Parks and Recreation Department, where he worked with teams comprised of both boys and girls.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Buckland Walsh; children, Braden Walsh of Durham, Cameron Walsh (Shanna) of Raleigh, and Brynn Walsh of Raleigh; grandchildren, Reagan Walsh of Jensen Beach, FL, Maddox Bean of Raleigh, and Grayson Bean of Raleigh; and a multitude of cousins who were like his brothers and sisters. He was born in Durham, North Carolina, and graduated from Durham High School. He was married to Jane Buckland Walsh.

At a later time, a memorial service will be performed in honor of the deceased. Donations in memory of the deceased can be sent to the SECU Family House, which is located at 1970 Baldwin Lane, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27103.
