Robbie Knievel’s full name was Robert Edward Knievel II, but he was more commonly known as Robbie. The stuntman who had been battling pancreatic cancer for a significant amount of time went away early on Friday morning as he was receiving hospice care with his daughters Krysten and Karmen by his side. He had been battling the disease for a significant amount of time. Robbie Knievel was strikingly reminiscent of his famous father Evel in many respects.
Robbie Knievel became known as Evel Knievel after following in his father’s footsteps as a stunt performer and taking on the name of his father. When Robbie was only four years old, he began jumping his bike, and when he was only eight years old, he made his debut at Evel Knievel’s show at Madison Square Garden. Robbie has been jumping his bike ever since. When he was only 12 years old, he followed his father on tour, and he would put on a performance whenever the pre-jump shows were taking place. Robbie Knievel accomplished approximately 350 jumps throughout the course of his career, and he established new world records for 20 of those jumps.
One of the most amazing occurred in 1989 when he was able to successfully leap the fountains at Caesars Palace, an accomplishment that his father had attempted in the past but was unable to do. This was an accomplishment that his father had attempted in the past but was unable to complete. Robbie made a bungee jump over the Grand Canyon in 1999. Unfortunately, after the 228-foot jump, he crashed and broke his leg in the ensuing fall that followed. Robbie’s latest stunt was in 2011, and it took place at the Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella, California. He jumped over tractor-trailer trucks.
The height of the jump was approximately 150 feet. Robbie also starred in the 2005 season of the ill-fated show “Knievel’s Wild Ride,” which allowed viewers a glimpse behind the scenes of how he and his team prepared for his daring deeds. The show was canceled after only one season. After only one season, the show was pulled from the air.
