Michael Hoefer Death, Obituary – Michael Bruce Hoefer, 62 years old, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a resident of Higginsville, Missouri. He was born in Carrollton, Missouri, on August 31, 1960, to the late Bruce Hoefer and the late Jeanne (Haub) Hoefer. Both of his parents have since passed away. Mike attended high school in Higginsville and graduated from Lafayette County C-1 High School. On March 24, 1986, he wed Leonna (Goetz) Hoefer, and the two of them enjoyed a blissful marriage for the next 36 years. When he was a young man, he began his career in the furniture business at Hoefer Interiors, which was owned by his family.
In addition to those jobs, he worked for the railroad, the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, the Excelsior Springs Job Corp. Center, and he finished his career with Hoefer-Wysocki Architects, which is also a family-owned business. Mike attended a Methodist church during his childhood, but he eventually switched his allegiance to the Central Christian Church. Before health problems prevented him from doing so due to his preferences, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and swimming. In his later years, he became a devoted viewer of television, with a particular fondness for police procedurals and westerns.
In addition to this, he stayed abreast of political happenings and was not bashful about expressing his opinions on topical issues. Surviving family members include his wife, Leonna, who resides at the family home; one son, Jeremy Hoefer, who resides in Lenexa, Kansas; one daughter, Melissa Hoefer, who resides in Blue Springs, Missouri; two brothers, Mitch Hoefer of Overland Park, Kansas, and Marc Hoefer of Independence, Missouri; and one sister, Marsha Marr, who resides in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. His grandparents, Ray Hoefer and Betty Hoefer, as well as his parents, Bruce and Jeanne Hoefer, passed away before he was born. On Monday, January 16, 2023, the family will host a visitation for guests from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Central Christian Church, which is located at 16 W. 20th Street in Higginsville, Missouri.
