Melanie Kolar Obituary, Death – Melanie lost her courageous fight against a debilitating illness on the 13th of January, 2023. She had been enduring this ordeal for several years prior to her passing. Both of her parents had already passed away by the time she was born; Andy Kvocak and Sylvia Yambrovich Kvocak were her parents. She was their daughter. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, David; by her daughters Jennie and Sarah, both of Pittsburgh; by her son Andrew and his wife.

Johanna; and by their two daughters Brynn and Sophie of Trumbull, Connecticut; in addition, she is survived by a large number of cousins and aunts. She was married to David for 52 years. In addition to her husband and daughters, she is survived by a large number of cousins and aunts. She had been David’s wife for a total of 52 years. When she was a youngster, she lived in Sharon, Pennsylvania, where she went to a Croatian church.

She was quite active in the cultural activities that were held at the church. In 1969, she graduated with degrees in music from Duquesne University and in dance and folklore performance from The Tamburitzans folklore ensemble. Both of these accomplishments were awarded to her in the same year. She began her career as an elementary school educator at St. Alexis School in Wexford, where she remained employed for the next two decades and discovered that the job was one that she took great satisfaction in performing. She also found that the school was a place where she could make a positive impact on the lives of her students.
