McCarthy Death, Obituary – According to statements made by members of Troop F of the Louisiana State Police, they responded to a crash involving a motorcycle on January 7, 2023, at around 4:15 p.m. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Matthew L. McCarthy was riding his motorcycle on Interstate 20 Westbound, west of Highway 145, when he was involved in an accident with a cable barrier that was located in the median. McCarthy reportedly sustained injuries that were life-threatening as a result of the incident, and he was taken to the nearby hospital, where he eventually passed away as a consequence of the injuries he sustained as a result of the collision.
As part of its investigation, the LSP is currently attempting to determine what precipitated the crash. It was decided to collect some toxicological samples and then submit them for analysis at the laboratory. LSP claims that they had a suspicion that impairment played a role in the incident. The Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind the general public that driving while distracted or not paying attention is one of the leading causes of car accidents across the state, and that motorists should make sure they get adequate rest in order to remain alert while driving.
