Mark Dillard Death, Obituary – On Friday, January 6, 2023, at the age of 64 years old, David Mark Dillard, who had been a resident of the Mooreville and Mantachie communities, passed away and went to be with the Lord. We grieve the loss of David Mark Dillard with a profound sense of loss and a great deal of fondness for him. Baker Dillard and Ruby Ketcham Dillard had a total of 17 children, all of whom survived their parents, who both passed away before their children were born. David was one of those children. On July 7th, 1958, David was brought into this world.
He began his career in the building and construction sector as a master house painter in Plantersville, where he also completed his high schooling at Nettleton. During his formative years, he lived in Plantersville and attended Nettleton. As well as spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and hunting were two of David’s favorite hobbies. In addition to that, he was an active participant in the breakfast club in his neighborhood. His wife, Susan Adkin Dillard, whom he married on March 31, 1979; his daughters Emily Spradlin and Megan Kelso, both of Mooreville, Mississippi;
Megan Kelso and Jackson Kelso, both of Mantachie; and his grandchildren, Izzy (Izarella) Spradlin, Owen Hood (Big O), Jasper Spradlin (Jabo), Shepard Spradlin (Shep Dog), and Ivy Kelso (Sass At five o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, January 9, 2023, there will be a prayer service held in the Sadie Holland Memorial chapel at Holland Funeral Directors. The service will be held at Holland Funeral Directors. Brother Troy McConnell is going to preside over the wedding as the officiant. The family will then meet and greet their friends once the funeral service has concluded.
The Dillard family feels that Ginger, Abby, Chyna, Amber, and Stevie, along with the rest of the staff at the UAB Heart and Lung transplant, Intensive Care Unit, and Gentiva Hospice, are especially deserving of their thanks for the care and compassion that they offered.
