Margaret Wojt Obituary, Death – On Jan 12, 2023, at the Spooner Health System, Margaret Wojt, age 76, a resident of Minong, passed away unexpectedly. Margaret Wojt was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on the 31st of August, 1945. His parents were Joseph and Margaret (Anderson) Wojt. After receiving his diploma from Eau Claire North High School in 1963, he went on to study for a total of two years at UW Stout.
During that period, he remained a member of the United States Army Reserve until the year 1971, when he was finally let go. After that, he started a career at National Presto Industries in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where he would remain for the next 44 years, first as a foreman in the timekeeping department, then as a manufacturer of ammunition shells for the military, and finally as the customer service manager until he retired. He met his future wife, Diane Olson, while working at Presto, and they went on to tie the knot in Eau Claire on May 21, 1993. Both of them were employed there at the time.
During his time in Eau Claire, he was active in the Cub Scouts and served on a number of church committees in various leadership capacities. After Roger’s retirement in 2010, the pair relocated to Minong, where they had previously purchased property in 1999 with the intention of building a cabin there. After Roger’s retirement, the cabin served as the couple’s retirement home. Diane remained active in the workforce up until the year 2019, when she finally retired.
After relocating to Minong, he started volunteering at Ruby’s Pantry, was elected to serve as a Supervisor for the Town of Minong, and served on the council of Calvary Lutheran Church. He is still serving in all three of these capacities. Roger was a man of many interests: he enjoyed being a deer hunter, going on fishing excursions to Canada on a yearly basis, trail riding with his buddies in his UTV, reading a good book, cooking, and being a jack of all trades. The couple’s love of travel led them to visit a number of national parks as well as other countries and cities including Switzerland, Italy, Paris, and Greece.
