Marcy Goodyear Obituary, Death – WTOC has been informed by the Mayor of Darien that Darien City Councilwoman Marcy Goodyear has passed away. Goodyear was on the board of directors for the Darien-McIntosh Chamber of Commerce while also serving as a representative for the South Ward. According to Mayor Hodge, Goodyear passed away suddenly on Wednesday. His passing was unexpected. As new information becomes available to us, we will keep you informed.
On July 29, 2019, Joseph Lee Goodyear, age 83, of Lithopolis, Ohio, went to the glorious home he had prepared for him. He was a graduate of Groveport High School in 1954 and was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 20, 1936. His parents, Joseph and Virginia Goodyear, both passed away before he graduated. He served his country with honor for a combined total of 25 years in the United States Air Force and the Ohio National Guard. He joined his life with Susie Seymour and the couple went on to have five children together. They instilled in their children a deep reverence and devotion for God, family, country, and community as they brought up their children. Susie Goodyear, his devoted wife of 65 years, is the only person he leaves behind.
His children, Susan (Doug) Kraner, Cindy (Craig) Passen, Sally (Tom) Jaudon, Joe (Marcy) Goodyear, and Steven (Samantha Falter) Goodyear, are the ones who will carry on his legacy. He is survived by his 10 grandchildren, Rob (Johanna) Williams, Andy (Toby) Kraner, Michael (Lacey) Kraner, Brooke (Jessiah) Simmons, Chip (Liesel) Passen, Valerie (Brian) Hertlein, Joe (Megan) Goodyear, Cameron (Jeremy) Konar, Tyler (Lorraine) Goodyear, and Jack (Leslie West) Morbitzer; 18 great-grandchildren; his brother John Brothers Richard and Jerry Goodyear, as well as sister Rebecca Fuess, have passed away before her. Joe had been attending services at the United Methodist Church for a significant amount of time.
He was devoted to his Lord, making time to pray for and visit those in need, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to whoever was in need. He was able to fix just about everything and was never intimidated by new people.
