Linda Heidt Obituary, Death – At the age of 68, Linda P. Heidt passed away at her home in Lyndon on April 12, 2012, and she was able to go to be with her Lord without any suffering. On May 10, 1943, Linda Goering was born in Stamford, Connecticut to her late parents, Henry and Elizabeth (Von Lienen) Goering. Her parents have since passed away. She received her diploma from Paramus High School in New Jersey in the year 1961. She wed Francis J. Heidt on April 30th, 1966, and that day marks the beginning of their marriage.
The Heidt family moved to Vermont in 1967 and initially settled in St. Johnsbury before relocating to their current residence in Lyndon, which is located on Route 122. Linda attended the Lyndon Bible Church on a consistent basis and was a very active member there. She was involved in many other activities at the church, but the placement of the steeple was one of the most essential to her. Linda was an employee at JCPenney for the entirety of her 27-year tenure there, retiring in November of the previous year. By producing cakes and getting involved in other people’s creative endeavors, Linda, a kind and empathetic person, was able to connect with others. She knitted thousands of hats, including ones for newborn babies.
Those who survive her include her husband, Frank; three of their four children, William and Catherine Heidt of McAllen, Texas, Christopher and Lesley Heidt of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, and Gretchen Collins and Bart Collins of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren, Audrey and Ryan; her brother Richard Goering and his wife Lynn, who live in Aurora, Colorado; and two sisters, Elizabeth Jaeger of Randolph, New Jersey, and Gail Parent and her husband Brian, who live in Her third child, Lorraine, who was born in 1974, passed away before her.
On Monday, April 16, calling hours will be held at the Guibord Funeral Home from six to eight o’clock in the evening. Funeral services will be held at the Lyndon Bible Church, which can be found at 250 Brown Farm Rd., on Tuesday, April 17, at 11 a.m. in the town of Lyndon. After the funeral, the burial will take place at the Lyndon Center Cemetery.
