by Joyce Mitchell Death, Obituary – An Amazon Elder has sadly passed away, and I’m sorry to be the one to break the news to you, but I can’t help myself. I am so sorry that I have to be the one to break such heartbreaking news to you. Joyce Mitchell, who had been battling liver cancer for a number of years prior to her dying, lost her battle with the disease on November 29, 2022 and passed away. At that point in time, she had already reached the age of 76. Do not declare “she is no more” out of grief; rather, let your life be a declaration of appreciation that she ever lived. Saying this will only prolong your suffering.
It will only make your pain worse if you keep saying “she is no more.” She is survived by her husband, Don Mitchell; sons, Brad (Jennifer) Mitchell and Darren (Heather) Mitchell; daughters, Donna Barker and Allison (Jeff) Carter; and eight grandchildren, Joseph Clark, Lynn (Ashley) Mitchell, Chad Barker, Ethan Mitchell, Ryan Barker, Avanell Mitchell, Makena Carter, and Wilson Mitchell. She is also survived by her husband, Don Mitchell. She is survived by her husband, Don Mitchell; sons, Brad (Jennifer) Mitchell, and Don Mitchell, who was also her spouse, is another person who will miss her. She also leaves behind two grandchildren.
Don Mitchell, who was her partner for a significant portion of her life, is another person who will miss her a great deal. Michael Allgood was one of the many people, in addition to the members of her own family, that Joyce brought up as if they were her children. Joyce did this for a number of different people. A substantial number of other people looked up to Joyce as if she were their own mother. Her parents, Claytie and Lloyd Holland, as well as her brother, Ralph Holland, had all passed away before she did. She was the last surviving member of her family. She was the only member of her family to have lived to an old age. She was the only member of her family to have reached an advanced age and she was the only one who did.
