John Ways Death, Obituary – Early on Sunday morning, there was a collision involving just one vehicle that claimed the life of an Aiken man. An investigation into the incident is currently being carried out by the Coroner’s Office in Aiken County. The information that was provided by Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables indicates that the collision occurred on Dry Branch Road near Odom Street at approximately 4:20 a.m. It was located outside of New Ellenton. According to him, a Ford Mustang was traveling south on Dry Branch Road when it crossed the centerline, careened off the left side of the road, and crashed into a tree before taking fire. He alleges that the accident was caused by the Mustang.
According to Ables, the driver has been determined to be a man named John Ways, who is currently 31 years old. Ways was the only person in the car when the incident occurred, and pedestrian onlookers assisted him in exiting the vehicle after it had been involved. At the scene of the accident, it was found that blunt force trauma was the cause of Ways’s death. A toxicology report is still in the process of being written up, and the investigation into the accident is still being carried out by the Coroner’s Office as well as the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
