by Jessen Hobson Obituary, Death – I am writing to inform you of the unexpected demise of our friend and coworker Jessen Hobson, which causes me an amount of anguish that is beyond my ability to adequately describe. Jessen joined our Department of Accountancy in 2009, and as a professor, he was everything you could have hoped for and more. He was everything you could have asked for. He was a hard worker in the field of research who had a genuine concern for our pupils, and he was a colleague who made coming into the office every day a pleasure.
Since the very beginning, Jessen has been a pillar of support for the innovative culture that our College fosters. He never stopped considering novel ideas and innovative strategies for interacting with our pupils and assisting his other employees in their academic endeavors in order to provide support. “Jessen was a scholar with a heart of gold who excelled not only on cutting-edge research, devoted and innovative teaching, and dedicated service but also at being an incredible colleague and amazingly kind human being,” said Mark Peecher, Deloitte Professor of Accountancy and Executive Associate Dean of Faculty and Research.
