by Janette Collins Death, Obituary – I write this letter to inform you of the demise of my dear sister Janette Collins (also known as Janette Collins-I’Anson), and I do so with the goal of expressing my condolences to you. It is with a heavy heart that I write this letter. On the afternoon of Thursday, January 5th, Janette passed away peacefully at home from natural causes. During her final moments, she was surrounded by her loved ones, including myself, her three daughters, and three of her grandchildren. She fought cancer bravely for six years, which is a miracle in and of itself considering how severe the disease is, given how long she had it.
She began to experience a general decline in her health after the death of her husband Nick in July, which contributed to the overall downturn. At the beginning of December, our brother Paul embarked on the arduous journey from Mexico all the way to the United States so that he could be with her. Both of them placed a significant amount of value on his visit. She was able to make a full recovery and make the most of the time she was able to spend with him during the week that he was here. She took full advantage of the time they were able to spend together. After all of this time, it was such a pleasure to see Janette again during one of our reunions not too long ago.
It had been a long time since we had last seen one other. The image of her beguiling smile will be ingrained in my mind for all of eternity, and I will never forget it. She maintained her upbeat attitude right up until the moment she passed away, and she did it in the most dignified manner imaginable in spite of the difficult circumstances that surrounded her passing. We are all going to miss her tremendously once she has moved on.
