Emma Heffernan Obituary, Death – Emma Heffernan’s passions included her pets, music, exploring new places, spending time with her friends and family, and traveling. She visited over 60 different countries and went to hundreds of shows all around the world. Even though Bean and Rory, Emma’s cat and dog, were not able to accurately tally the number of belly rubs, we can confidently say that it was in the high thousands. Her interests included crafting leather goods, going hiking, drinking craft beer, camping, playing soccer and hockey, reading, and doing home improvement projects.
She studied in her spare time and went on to get two master’s degrees before having a successful career in energy policy. Emma passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2023, when she was 33 years old. The next year, in 1992, her younger brother Yasch Neufeld was also born to her parents, Tracy Heffernan and Mark Neufeld, who welcomed her into the world on November 26, 1989. Emma is survived not only by her immediate family, but also by a large number of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, colleagues, and teammates, as well as her partner.
Everyone deeply misses her in a variety of ways, including her kindness, talent, doggedness, razor-sharp wit, offbeat sense of humor, and even her authoritative nature. We are inconsolable that she is not among us at this time. Her life was packed to the brim with experiences. She still had a significant amount of work to complete. It is tough to put into words the free-spirited nature of her soul.
On Tuesday, January 10th, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, there will be a visitation at the Cardinal Funeral Home, which is located at 92 Annette Street. There will be a memorial service in the spring, with the dates still to be determined. Donations to Eva’s shelter or any other charity of your choosing, in place of flowers, would be greatly appreciated.
