Edgar Castillo Obituary, Resident of Elk Grove has passed away – Death

Edgar Castillo Death, Obituary – Edgar Castillo, a 6-month member of IBEW 1245 from Elk Grove, passed away in a work vehicle accident at the age of 37 while working to assist the atmospheric river event. The news of his passing is being shared with a heavy heart as we are deeply saddened to make this announcement. Castillo, who was working as a Foreman for Mountain F. Enterprises, which was a subcontractor for PG&E, and Jose Hernandez, who was working as a Journeyman Line Clearance Tree Trimmer, were traveling to clear debris in the city of Manchester on January 7 while driving a 100′ bucket truck in poor weather conditions and very steep terrain.

Castillo was killed when the vehicle went off the road and down an embankment for reasons that are not known to be the cause of the accident. At this time, there is still an ongoing inquiry into the accident. Hernandez, the passenger, was involved in an accident that resulted in significant injuries and is currently being treated at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
“This is a tragic loss for the families of these men and to everyone who knew them, as their lives have been permanently altered; it’s just tragic and heartbreaking,” said Ralph Armstrong, who is the senior assistant business manager for IBEW 1245. “Their lives have been forever altered; it’s just tragic and heartbreaking.”

There are five of Brother Castillo’s offspring left behind, including a set of twins. His wife Leticia also survives him.
