I must break the news to you with a heavy heart that Don Smith passed away this morning, and I am sorry for the loss that this causes you. Please accept my condolences. Both the Gryffe Hillwalking Club and, more recently, The Bridge of Weir Hillwalkers can thank Don for his significant contributions to the organizations' respective expansions and developments over the years. He played an important role in both of these organizations and was known throughout both of them. The inspiration and drive that we needed came from him. Don was a natural-born organizer; he planned everything from weekend getaways and weeklong vacations to local excursions as well as trips to the Alps, Dolomites, and Pyrenees. He organized everything from local excursions to trips to mountain ranges like the Alps, Dolomites, and Pyrenees. He planned outings of every kind, from day trips around town to vacations in far-flung mountain ranges like the Alps, Dolomites, and Pyrenees. Because Don knew so much about rock music, we will never forget him because he was unbeatable in every single one of our music quizzes (he was an encyclopedia when it came to rock music!). Don will be in our memories for the rest of our lives. His legacy will endure in our thoughts and hearts for all time. Don will live on in our hearts forever in the form of fond memories. Don bravely fought cancer for many years and was determined to live his life to the fullest right up until the moment he passed away. Don was determined to live his life to the fullest until the moment he died. He accomplished this by seizing every opportunity and living life to the fullest before he passed away. Everyone will experience loss in their own special way when he passes away. Ken
