Daphne Fontino Death, Obituary – The officials said that on Wednesday morning, the body of a female was recovered inside a vehicle that had been fully buried in floodwaters in Forestville. According to the authorities, the vehicle had been completely submerged. According to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, someone called 9-1-1 about ten in the morning on Tuesday to report a vehicle that was trapped in flood waters on the 6000 block of Trenton-Healdsburg Road close to River Road. The location of the vehicle was described as being close to River Road.
Before the connection suddenly went dead, the caller mentioned that there was water present in the vehicle. According to the information provided by the sheriff’s office, dispatchers attempted to call back many times but did not obtain a response during any of those attempts. A large number of deputies, as well as water rescue crews from the sheriff’s department and the fire department, as well as a helicopter from the sheriff’s department and one from the California Highway Patrol, arrived at the location to search for the vehicle and the driver of the vehicle.
According to the sheriff’s office, the search continued throughout the day on Tuesday until the sun went down; however, neither the vehicle nor the driver could be found. The water rescue crews returned to the location where they had discovered the submerged vehicle at approximately 7:46 in the morning on Wednesday. The location was approximately 100 yards off the road and had approximately 8-10 feet of floodwaters. On Wednesday morning, at six o’clock in the morning, this discovery was made. A deputy who was part of the marine unit went into the sea and found a dead corpse inside the vehicle after being assigned to that unit.
The body was extracted from the vehicle by more law enforcement officers as well as members of the fire department.
