Chad Cate Obituary, Death – We all here at Clallam County Fire 3 and the entire firefighting community are deeply saddened by Chad Cate’s departure since he was one of our closest and most treasured members. His passing brings us all to a place of great sorrow. Chad passed suddenly at the station on the early morning hours of Thursday, January 12, 2023. His passing came completely out of the blue, which has left his family, friends, and the brothers and sisters he worked with at IAFF 2933 as well as his entire family in Clallam County Fire District 3 in utter disbelief. His passing has left his family, friends, and the brothers and sisters he worked with at IAFF 2933.
Chad began his career as a firefighter in 1997, and ever since then, he has exerted tremendous effort in order to advance not just our department but also our local as well as his own professional endeavors. Chad answered the calls of innumerable people of the community throughout the course of his more than 20 years of service as a paramedic, during which time he had the opportunity to positively impact the lives of those individuals. In the year 2020, Chad was given a promotion that brought him to the position of captain, which he had previously held as a lieutenant.
Chad was born and raised in this area, and he completed his high school education at Sequim High School, where he now works as a coach for the wrestling team. Chad is a native of this region. Renee, his wife, his son, who is 2 years old, and the couple’s two adult children are the only ones to have survived Chad’s passing. In memory of Chad, the local government is working to organize a memorial service, and they are doing it in collaboration with Chad’s family and IAFF Local 2933. The general public will have access to information regarding the service within the following few days. this will take place over the course of several days.
