by Cary Slack Obituary, Death – An auto accident on Wednesday evening in Elkhart resulted in the death of a man who was struck by the vehicle. The incident took place in Elkhart. According to the Elkhart Police Department, officers were sent to the 2700 block of Johnson Street at approximately 6:47 p.m., which is situated directly south of County Road 6 in the city. The preliminary findings of the investigation indicate that a Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on Johnson Street at the time of the collision with a male pedestrian.
The police determined that the individual who was struck by the vehicle was a 61-year-old Elkhart citizen named Cary Slack. The victim was the person who was hit by the automobile. Medical personnel who were present at the scene confirmed that Slack had passed away. The elderly female passenger in the Toyota who was driving at the time of the collision and who remained at the scene while the investigation was ongoing was 79 years old. She was helpful and cooperated with the law enforcement officials. The Crash Reconstruction Team of the Elkhart Police Department is currently looking into the matter as part of their investigation.
