by Bryan Rust Death, Obituary – On January 3, 2023, the untimely death of Bryan Tyler Rust, who was 52 years old and from Lewes, occurred. He was the devoted spouse of Doni Rust and the doting father of his children, Lucas and Riley. Doni Rust was his best friend. Bryan spent his entire life working as an automotive technician for companies located in southern Delaware. However, the highlights of his life were spent participating in the many water sports that the coastal lifestyle had to offer. Bryan graduated from AI DuPont High School in 1989 and went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard on carriers at sea and in Hilo, Hawaii, before settling down in lower Delaware.
Bryan served in the Coast Guard for a number of years before making his home in lower Delaware. He took pleasure in constructing furniture in his workshop, listening to music, watching movies, participating in sporting activities, repairing cars, and spending time with his family. Both of his parents—his father Ronald H. Rust and his mother Christina (Morgan) Rust—passed away before he was born. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepmother, Margaret (Turner) Rust; his four siblings, Heather, Michelle, Lowell, and Ashley; and six of his stepmother’s and stepfather’s nieces and nephews: Grace, Harry, Ben, Delaney, Piper, and Max.
His stepmother is also a survivor. His family in California, which includes his Aunt Joy and Uncle Terry and cousins Wendy Wyatt and Kim Vetter, as well as his family in Lincoln, Delaware, which includes his aunts, uncles, and cousins on the Morgan side, also loved and will miss him very much. On Saturday, January 14, 2023, a memorial ceremony will be conducted at The Crossing located at 15183 Coastal Highway, Milton, Delaware 19968 from 12 o’clock to 1 o’clock for visiting with the family, followed by a service at 1 o’clock.
